Betfred Championship side Toulouse Olympique have bolstered their squad with the addition of experienced second-rower Dominique Peyroux from St Helens.
Peyroux joined St Helens in 2016 and has made almost 120 appearances for the club, scoring on 19 occasions. The 33-year-old has lifted the League Leaders Shield on two occasions and won the Betfred Super League Grand Final in 2019 against Salford Red Devils.
Prior to his move to the Totally Wicked Stadium, Peyroux represented Gold Coast Titans and New Zealand Warriors in the NRL as well as Samoa and the Cook Islands on the international stage.
Peyroux said: “I would like to thank Sylvain [Houles] and Bernard [Sarrazain] for this great opportunity.
“I’ve always wanted to travel to France, play rugby and experience the culture and the lifestyle. I think Toulouse have a solid base of players and staff and I will do everything in my power to help Toulouse Olympique move forward to the Super League.”
President of Toulouse Olympique, Bernard Sarrazain added: “The arrival of Dominique demonstrates our ambition. We want to play at the highest level, and with Dom, we are giving ourselves the means.”
Peyroux joins fellow St Helens forward Joseph Paulo in switching St Helens for France ahead of the 2021 season.
