Digital development puts Rugby League in touch 24/7

Rugby League’s vast army of coaches, players, match officials and volunteers are set to benefit from a revolutionary new online learning platform being introduced by the Rugby Football League.

OurLearning Zone is an online space to support the development of the game – a place to connect all members of the Rugby Football League community and allow everyone to learn from one another and share best practice. The platform offers members instant access to digital learning resources and information via smartphone, tablet and PC on an array of topics such as the 2020 Coach Right Course, first aid training and the new Game Day Manager course.

This invaluable online toolkit will provide the stakeholders of our game with access to share best practice with each other and engage in discussion to help each individual’s continuous personal development as they strive for success within the sport.

The RFL’s Dave Rotheram says: “Extensive research has gone in to the development of the OurLearning Zone, with the support of Sport England and Hive Learning. It follows consultation with stakeholders across the game, and we believe that this new and exciting platform will make a significant difference to the ongoing development of coaches, players, match officials and volunteers throughout Rugby League.

“The fact that members can have quick access to vital support tools and learning resources on their smartphones as well as tablets and PCs is a huge benefit. The platform is a working tool which will be constantly updated with information and with everyone being encouraged to share best practice and join in discussion I’m sure it is going to prove an invaluable asset to the sport at all levels.”

Chris Murrell, Partnerships Director at Hive Learning adds: "Everyday there is fantastic work and new innovative ideas forming in Rugby League clubs across the country. Hive Learning are extremely proud to be in partnership with the Rugby Football League to help surface and facilitate this best practice sharing and help develop the game across all levels.

"We have seen the impact peer to peer collaboration can have in the development of coaches and volunteers across sport. OurLearning Zone will enable members of the Rugby Football League to access new resources, insights and a wider support network anytime, anywhere.

"Success in any sport starts with investment at grassroots level. OurLearning Zone is the digital learning community created for all involved in Rugby League driven by its membership."

Anyone wanting to find out more and access the OurLearning Zone needs to be registered as a coach or a volunteer on the RFL League Net system. Once League Net registration is complete, users must also create an Our League account from where they enter the OurLearning Zone.
