England Watch | Women - Challenge Cup quarter-finals

With the 2021 Women's Rugby League World Cup on the horizon, we take a look at how our England stars got on in the quarter-finals of the Betfred Women's Challenge Cup on Sunday.

Sunday - Leeds 40-0 Warrington

Dannielle Anderson made her long-awaited return from injury for Leeds on Sunday, the prop featuring off the bench after recovering from an ACL injury which has kept her out of action since the 2019 Grand Final.

Georgia Roche opened the scoring after ten minutes for Leeds, who led 16-0 at half time. Caitlin Beevers and Chloe Kerrigan were also first half tryscorers, with Fran Goldthorp on the scoresheet in the second half.

The Rhinos also handed starts to hooker Keara Bennett, prop Emma Lumley and Courtney Winfield-Hill, who captained the side from halfback.

Sunday - St Helens 24-0 Huddersfield

St Helens continued their run of not conceding a single point in 2022 on Sunday but they were given a stern test by Huddersfield at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Amy Hardcastle grabbed a hat-trick of tries for Saints, with two of those coming in the first half, as the current Cup holders ran up a 20-0 half time lead. Fellow centre Carrie Roberts also added a first half try.

Leah Burke, Beth Stott, Tara Jones, Chantelle Crowl, Naomi Williams, Paige Travis and Woman of Steel Jodie Cunningham all started for Saints, with England captain Emily Rudge coming off the bench.

New recruit from Huddersfield Shona Hoyle is cup tied so won't make her Saints debut until Super League action gets underway.

England squad member Bethan Oates started at hooker and captained Huddersfield, who showed their mettle in the second period to concede a solitary try, with their sights now set on progress in the league.

Sunday - York City Knights 92-2 Oulton Raidettes

Tara-Jane Stanley scored four tries and kicked nine goals from 11 attempts for an impressive 34-point haul in her side's big win over Oulton on Sunday.

The full back started and played the full match, while Savannah Andrade also featured heavily for the Knights at the LNER Community Stadium, scoring two tries and claiming the Player of the Match award.

Prop Grace Field also featured from the start for the home side and scored a try in each half, while Olivia Wood and Hollie Dodd were starting second-rower partners and scored a try each in the first half.

Sunday - Featherstone Rovers 12-10 Wigan Warriors

Georgia Wilson was the only England squad member on show in Sunday's live match on Our League, and she proved to be a stand-out performer despite ending up on the losing side.

She started at full back for the beaten Warriors and scored an eye-catching try from 40 metres out and kicked a goal, but it wasn't enough as Featherstone set up a clash with St Helens in the Cup semi-finals.

Wigan's other England squad members Becky Greenfield, Vicky Molyneux and Rachel Thompson are all continuing rehab from their respective injuries.
