Betfred Championship Round 7 round-up

A hat-trick from Luke Briscoe saw Featherstone Rovers move top of the Betfred Championship table after beating Sheffield Eagles 44-18.

Joey Leilua opened the scoring and Briscoe, Ryley Jacks and Craig Hall all got themselves on the scoresheet in the first-half.

Eagles built on Ben Jones-Bishop's first-half try and came back in the second half with quick tries from Blake Broadbent, Marty Reilly and Connor Bower, but Matty Wildie, Morgan Smith and Briscoe responded for Rovers.

Leigh Centurions had gone top on Friday with a 44-0 victory against Dewsbury Rams.

Krisnan Inu scored two tries and six goals.

Nene Macdonald, Caleb Aekins, Keanan Brand, John Asiata, James McDonnell and Joe Mellor all scored for the hosts as the Rams were handed their fourth straight defeat.

York City Knights earned their fifth win of the season with a 44-18 win against Workington Town.

Knights were 20-0 up at half-time with tries from Liam Harris, Jordan Thompson, Joe Brown and Levi Edwards.

Matty Henson added two for Town after the break while Carl Forber also touched down, but James Glover scored two tries alongside Will Jubb and Harris as York completed a resounding win.

Barrow Raiders suffered their first defeat of the season as they lost 30-18 to Batley Bulldogs.

Bulldogs took the lead with converted tries from Lucas Walshaw, Ben White and Luke Hooley.

Raiders had Hakim Miloudi sent off half an hour in but Ryan Shaw crossed for the 12-man hosts before the break.

Kieran Buchanan added another try for Batley before Danny Morrow and Morgan Escare added two quick converted tries for Raiders but Perry Whitely put the game to bed with Batley's fifth try.

Halifax Panthers produced a stunning second-half display to come from behind and beat Whitehaven RLFC 46-24.

Ryan King opened the scoring for Whitehaven but Joe Keyes levelled and Joe Arundel added a second for the Panther.

Two tries from Nikau Williams and one from David Eccleston put Haven in front 24-10 up at the break.

But Panthers ran in six unanswered tries after half-time through Ben Kavanagh, Keyes, Titus Gwaze, Ed Barber, Lachlan Walmsley and Brandon Moore.

Bradford Bulls recorded their third consecutive win by beating London Broncos 8-6.

A try from Matty Dawson-Jones and two Dec Patton conversions were enough for the Bulls, with the Broncos' only points coming from Lewis Bienek’s converted try.
