Tyrone May joins Catalans Dragons

Catalans Dragons have announced the signing of Tyrone May on a one-year deal ahead of the 2022 Betfred Super League season.

The 25-year-old debuted for Penrith Panthers back in 2017 and went on to make 56 appearances for the club, scoring ten tries and helping them win the 2021 NRL Grand Final. May has also represented Samoa in a 2018 loss to Tonga.

On the move, May said: “First of all, I’m very grateful for this opportunity. I can’t thank the coach Steve McNamara, Alex Chan and the president Bernard Guasch enough for allowing me to come to such a great club with an amazing fan base.

“I’m eager to meet my new teammates and gain their respect by working hard to go one better this year.”

Dragons boss, Steve McNamara added: “Tyrone will add great quality, depth and competition for places within our team.

“He arrives as a current Grand Final winner and his versatility and ability to play many positions to a high standard will be a huge asset for us.”
