Luke Briscoe returns to Featherstone

Featherstone Rovers have announced the signing of Luke Briscoe from Betfred Super League club Leeds Rhinos.

Briscoe previously spent time with the Rovers and in 2018 he broke the long-standing consecutive try-scoring record crossing in 17 consecutive games, surpassing legendary Great Britain Rugby League winger Martin Offiah’s record of 15.

On the move, Briscoe said: “It’s a massive honour, it’s my hometown club.

“The main goal is to get into Super League. The boys just missed out this year in the last game and my goal is to come here and help us get into Super League.”

Newly-appointed Featherstone Rovers boss Brian McDermott added: “I have worked with Luke previously at the Rhinos and am looking forward to linking up with him again next year.

“Luke has had a strong season behind him at Leeds and I feel he has developed strongly since his previous time at the Rovers.

“He was a prolific try-scorer when he was last at the Club and he will give us some real threat on the flank next season.”
