Catalans book Betfred Super League Grand Final place

Catalans book Betfred Super League Grand Final place

Catalans Dragons will be heading to Old Trafford for the first time in the club's history following a 28-10 play-off victory over Hull KR in Perpignan.

The Dragons will have to wait 24 hours to find out who they will face in the Betfred Super League Grand Final, as St Helens take on Leeds Rhinos for the second finalist spot on Friday night at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Despite missing the inspirational presence of England captain and Man of Steel contender Sam Tomkins, the Dragons wasted no time as raced into a 12-0 lead at the half hour mark, with converted tries from Garcia and Drinkwater before Shaun Kenny-Dowall narrowed scores to 12-4 at half-time.

Arthur Mourgue extended Catalans lead within sixty seconds of the restart before two further Dragons tries sealed the victory.

The valliant Robins grabbed a consolation try through Ryan Hall five minutes from time but the night belonged to the Dragons, who will now look to add a Betfred Super League Grand Final crown to the Challenge Cup trophy they won in 2018.

Tickets for the Betfred Super League Grand Final, at Old Trafford on Saturday 9 October, start from £30 for adults and are available to purchase here.
