Cumbrian duo Workington Town and Barrow Raiders are hoping to maintain their perfect starts to Betfred League 1 this weekend but face tough trips to North Wales Crusaders and Hunslet, respectively.
Chris Thorman’s Workington top the League 1 table after the first two outings of the season and head into Round Three on the back of a dominant 50-16 victory over London Skolars last Sunday.
As for North Wales, they opened the season with a victory also over the Skolars but fell to a 18-26 defeat against Hunslet in a hard-fought affair last time out.
Barrow will be hopeful of earning a return to the Betfred Championship this season and have certainly begun the season in the right fashion with defeats of Coventry Bears and Keighley Cougars.
Gary Thornton’s Hunslet – who fell to Cumbrian outfit Workington in Round One – will want to be the first side to defeat Barrow and make it two consecutive wins in League 1.
Elsewhere, London Skolars remain in search of their first victory of the season against a Coventry Bears side who got the ball rolling with a 10-36 win at West Wales last Saturday.
Rochdale Hornets and Keighley Cougars are both looking to return to winning ways as they meet at Cougar Park on Sunday while Doncaster – also with one win from two – welcome a winless West Wales Raiders to the Keepmoat Stadium.
