Castleford Tigers win local derby & semi-final place all in one Women's Rugby League round-up
Women's Super League
Castleford Tigers 34-8 Featherstone Rovers
Castleford Tigers welcomed Featherstone Rovers to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Sunday afternoon, in a derby which had more than just local pride on the line.
For Castleford, winning would guarantee them a top four finish and place in the Women's Super League semi-finals.
The first half was an intense and physical battle, with the score staying all square at 0-0, until Featherstone's Chelsea Senior broke the deadlock as the minutes ticked down to half time.
But quickfire tries from Alex Wallace and Emma Lumley, with successful conversions by Tara Stanley, put Castleford 12-4 up at the break.
