Halifax retain Wheelchair Challenge Cup title

Challenge Cup Final: Halifax 62-18 Dundee Dragons

Halifax retained their Challenge Cup title with a hard-earned 62-18 win over Dundee Dragons.

Premier Division 'Fax were hot favourites going into the tie against Dundee from the second tier.

And they were dominant from the off despite a valiant effort from the Dragons.

The eventual champions ran in nine unanswered tries in the first half to put themselves in pole position to claim the title.

However, the second period proved to be a tighter affair, as the champions were limited to just three more tries.

Dundee grew into the game during the second 40 and bagged three tries of their own to outscore Halifax in the second half.

But the Premier Division big guns had done enough to seal the crown for another year.

Plate Final: Hereford Harriers 63-32 North Wales Crusaders

Hereford Harriers had a stunning first-half performance to thank as they ran out 63-32 winners over North Wales to claim the Plate crown.

The second-tier Harriers were made to work in the early stages by their third-tier opponents, with the scores level after 15 minutes.

But Hereford turned on the style thereafter to run up an impressive 40-12 lead by the interval.

Despite falling behind, Crusaders were undeterred, and some heroic defence, coupled with four tries of their own, saw them close the gap.

However, Hereford got back on top in the closing stages to take the crown.
