Wigan to make Women's Challenge Cup bow against Leigh

The Women's Challenge Cup first round draw took place today.

Wigan Warriors will take on neighbours Leigh Miners Rangers in the club's first-ever Women's Challenge Cup fixture after the draw was made for the first round of the competition today.

Miners, Challenge Cup finalists in 2016, will welcome Wigan to their Twist Lane home on Sunday, June 3.

Elsewhere, an all-Women's Super League tie sees Cup holders Bradford Bulls get their title defence underway as they host Castleford Tigers, and Super League's St Helens take on Hull FC from the Championship on home turf.

Last year's Plate winners, York City Knights, welcome Widnes Vikings, while Wakefield Trinity travel to take on Leeds Rhinos and Featherstone Rovers host Stanningley.

Finally, Hull Wyke clash with The Army at home and Brighouse Rangers face a trip to Barrow.
