York City Knights to host Catalans Dragons in fifth round of Ladbrokes Challenge Cup

The Ladbrokes Challenge Cup fifth round draw took place this evening at Media City, streamed live on BBC Sport (Tuesday, March 20).

To celebrate the launch of the 2018 Women’s Super League, St Helens Ladies’ Faye Gaskin who selected the home balls, conducted the draw alongside Wigan Warriors Women’s Captain Gemma Walsh, who drew the away teams.

Betfred League 1 side York City Knights, who secured a victory over Championship side Swinton Lions in the fourth round, were rewarded with a home tie against Betfred Super League side Catalans Dragons.

Barrow Raiders will also host Toronto Wolfpack in the fifth round, the last time the two sides met at Craven Park earlier this year they drew 8-8.

2016 Ladbrokes Challenge Cup finalists Warrington Wolves were drawn at home against either Hunslet RLFC or Bradford Bulls. 

All ties will be played over the weekend of April 21-22.

Over 13,000 viewers tuned in last Saturday to watch NCL Premier Division side Normanton Knights take on Betfred Championship side Rochdale Hornets. A fifth round game will be streamed live on the BBC Sport website, the fixture chosen will be announced in due course.
