Castleford and Wakefield to go head-to-head in Women's Challenge Cup

First round fixtures for the 2017 Women's Challenge Cup will take place this month.

Wakefield Trinity Ladies will host local rivals Castleford Tigers Ladies in the headline fixture of the Women's Challenge Cup first round.

The two Super League club-affiliated teams will clash on April 30 with a place in the second round of the Cup at stake.

Elsewhere, Leigh Miners Rangers, finalists last year, host Whitley Bay Barbarians, who made it to the Trophy final in 2016.

The Army also travel to face Bradford Bulls, while Oulton Raidettes face a long trip to Barrow Ladies.

Three preliminary round fixtures will take place before the first round gets underway, with East Leeds hosting Lindley Swifts and Brighouse Rangers travelling to face Hull Wyke.

Last year's winners, Thatto Heath Crusaders, will play the winners of the preliminary round fixture between West Leeds and York City Knights.
