Oldham secure promotion to Championship
Oldham secured promotion to the Kingstone Press Championship with a 31-20 win over Keighley Cougars in the League 1 play-off at Whitebank Stadium.
Jon Ford, Liam Thompson, Danny Langtee, George Tyson and Adam Clay scored tries for the Roughyeds, who made up for the disappointment of losing the League 1 promotion final to Hunslet 12 months ago, and Lewis Palfrey kicked five goals and a drop goal.
Matthew Bailey, Paul White, Danny Lawton and Andy Gabriel scored tries for the Cougars, who will get a second chance to gain promotion through the play-off semi-finals.
