Leyland progress at the expense of the Dynamite

Gravesend Dynamite 22 v 120 Leyland Warriors

Leyland Warriors have progressed to the semi finals of the Wheelchair Rugby League Challenge Cup as they soundly defeat Gravesend Dynamite.

The first half started with Gravesend getting the ball but Leyland turned it over and they wasted no time at all as they racked in four early tries as Chris Greenhalgh, Phil Roberts and two from Martin Norris saw the Warriors open up an early eighteen point lead.

Jack Linden came very close to scoring a try for Gravesend but as they got close to the Leyland try line, a fifth tackle kick brought out a great catch from Adam Rigby as Leyland held out the first major threat from the Dynamite.

Gravesend then got on the score sheet as they completed some great passing before Michael Grant got the ball over the try line to score his team's first try of the match.

Buy Leyland then upped the pressure as Chris Greenhalgh scored two quick tries for the warriors before Adam Rigby turned from goal kicker to try scorer to put Leyland passed the forty point barrier with over ten minutes left to go in the first half.

Leyland then completely dominated the game before half time and they raced through the fifty point barrier as Chris Greenhalgh scored his fourth try of the game as well as young Georgia Locke and Adam Rigby added a try each for the warriors before half time.

Half Time: Gravesend Dynamite 6 v 60 Leyland Warriors

The second half began with Gravesend kicking off to Leyland who were looking to continue their dominance of the game as they did in the first half.

And they did that as inside a spell of fifteen minutes, Leyland added four more tries as Greenhalgh added two tries for the Warriors before Norris and Rigby added a try each which put their side past the eighty point barrier.

Gravesend did manage to score another try as Tom McCarthy got hold of the ball on the left and got the ball passed the try line to score the Dynamite's first try of the second half.

Leyland then took hold of the second half in the same way they dominated the first half. Firstly, Adam Rigby added two tries to take his personal tally to fine in this game.

Then Norris and Greenhalgh each scored another try for the Warriors ads they pushed through the one hundred point barrier.

Both sides then scored two tries each as the game came to a close. Gravesend's Michael Grant added his second try of the game before Warren McKee added his first try of the game as he pushed the Dynamite through the twenty point barrier.

But it was Leyland who finished the game with a flourish as both Norris and Greenhalgh added their sixth and seventh tries of the game to close out an emphatic win for the warriors.
