Oxford withdraw from CLS

Oxford Cavaliers have withdrawn from the Conference League South with immediate effect.
In recent weeks the Cavaliers – which are a feeder club for Oxford RLFC – have been affected by the Kingstone Press Championship 1 side’s injury crisis and this has created a great strain on playing resources.
“The position moving forward was clearly unsustainable for the club”, said League Administrator David Lowe.
“Club officials have tried manfully to overcome what has become a difficult and unprecedented situation that could not have been predicted.
The Cavaliers decision to withdraw from the league has been taken with a heavy heart, however, club officials will now focus their efforts towards re-building for 2015.
“From a League Management perspective all unfilled games involving Oxford will be awarded to the opposition with a 24-0 default score-line,” added Lowe.
