Outlaws plan Heritage fundraising event

Interest is starting to grow as the first big event in the Nottingham Outlaws Project 30 fundraising campaign rapidly approaches.

The Project 30 campaign was launched earlier this year and it is focussed on raising £30,000 to help build a permanent home for Rugby League in Nottingham in what is the 30th anniversary for the game in the city.

The first major fundraising event will take place on the Saturday June 7 and the Outlaws have designated their home match against Leicester Storm as a Heritage Event.

To mark the occasion they will be playing in a specially designed strip based on the 1989 Nottingham City kit. Afterwards there will be an evening reception at The Wellbeck Hotel in the city centre.

The event promises to be a fantastic occasion with copies of the Nottingham Rugby League Heritage brochure on sale, whilst the highlight of the evening will be an auction to raise funds for Project 30.

There will be some fabulous items on offer including a rare match worn Mansfield Marksman shirt in fantastic condition along with a vast array of sporting memorabilia on sale. The shirts from the specially designed Heritage kit used in the Leicester match will also be sold during the auction.

The Heritage Evening will also be used to announce a Nottingham All Stars team, featuring the judges choice for the best ever starting thirteen from the Nottingham area and all of the players chosen will be automatically inducted into the Hall of Fame on the night.

Details of the Heritage Night and event tickets can be found on the Nottingham Outlaws website along with details of how to buy tickets for the evening as well as purchasing copies of the Nottingham RL Heritage Brochure.
