Rovers too good for Crosfields.

On Sunday in the Premier Division Crosfields Ladies hosted Featherstone Rovers and on the day the travelling team proved too strong for the hosts winning 64-0.

Andrea Dobson-Slowe and Nat Gilmour both scored twice for Featherstone, whilst Kayleigh Bulman, Grace Field, Steph Graham, Gemma Walsh, Katie Cooper-Birkenhead, Hannah Bairstow and Sam Burns all scored one try each. Cooper-Birkenhead scored one goal and Gilmour was on target with nine goals.

Bradford Thunderbirds were on the road at Thatto Heath St Helens and the journey proved a fruitful one as they returned with a 26-12 win.

Thatto gave it their all throughout and were on the score sheet courtesy of two tries for Carrie Roberts and one for Tara Jones.

The winners tries came courtesy of Kirsty Moroney, Paige Costello, Shone Hoyle, Rhiannon Marshall and Danielle Bose, all with one each, Bose was Bradford’s player-of-the-match and the award for Thatto Heath went to Jennie Pendelbury.

In Division One Fryston Warriors were at home to Stanningley Ladies and in a supremely entertaining game it was Stanningley who just edged a 12-8 win.

Hayley Fielding and Nat Carr crossed for Fryston’s two tries whilst for Stanningley it was one try each for Sophie Robinson, Sarah Dunn and Sarah Gaines.

Hunslet Hawks welcomed Oulton Raidettes and the away winning theme continued as it was Oulton who earned a 30-4 win.

Hunslets try came from Emma Clixby but on the day Oulton had the edge. Nicola Atkins crossed for three tries for the visitors whilst Laura Teesdale and Megan Beacon both added a try each, Beacon added one goal and Danielle Anderson finished the scoring with two goals.

In the Preliminary round of the Challenge Cup Wigan St Patricks travelled to Cumbria Crusaders and Wigan won out 46-0.

The game was played in great spirit and Cumbria played their part in a superb afternoon.

Wigan’s Jade Aspinall crossed for a hatrick of tries, also earning the player of the match award along the way. Sarah Harrison and Armani Sharrock both scored twice and there was one try each for Michelle Woodcock and Joanne Charnock, Harrison capped the scoring with five successful goals.
