Kieran Dixon joins York City Knights

York City Knights have added Kieran Dixon to their squad ahead of the 2021 Betfred Championship season.

The 28-year-old arrives from London Broncos after enjoying two successful spells with the club, with his try-scoring ability helping the Broncos earn promotion to the Betfred Super League in 2018.

Dixon also spent time with Hull Kingston Rovers in the Betfred Super League and has made three appearances for England Knights between 2012 and 2013.

On the move, Dixon said: “I’m pleased to have signed on for 2021 with the Knights. They’re a team with big ambitions and a drive to get to the top.

“With the new stadium and a great set of fans I’m really looking forward to getting started and working hard with the rest of the team.

“I think the direction the club is heading is really exciting and I’m honour and proud to become a part of it.”

York Head Coach James Ford added: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to sign Kieran. We’ve patiently been looking for an additional outside back for a while and we believe Kieran is exactly what we’re after.

“He has ample Super League experience, and outstanding try to game ratio, electric pace and he is a handful on early plays.

“I’m confident Kieran will fit in with our culture and add to it in places.

“I’d like to thank the efforts of our supporters – specifically the Knights 2020 Patrons and Squadbuilder – for their hard work and continuing commitment, which is enabling us to plan and build for what will hopefully be another successful season.”
