Give Wheelchair Rugby League a try at the 2019 Season Launch this weekend

Sheffield's Ponds Forge International Sports Centre will host the 2019 Wheelchair RL Season Launch Event on Saturday (March 9), and anyone can get involved.

Sheffield will host both Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup semi-finals in 2021, and clubs from as far and wide as North Wales Crusaders and Dundee Dragons, as well as reigning champions Leeds Rhinos, will descend on the city as preparations for the all-new Wheelchair Super League, Wheelchair Championship and Wheelchair Development League step up.

From 12pm, the first-ever 'Wheelchair 4s Festival' takes place - an opportunity for everyone from beginners to international stars to share the Wheelchair Rugby League pitch in a showcase of the game to celebrate the start of the 2019 season.

Representatives from the England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland Wheelchair RL coaching teams will be in attendance, and they will be looking to use the Wheelchair 4s Festival as a selection opportunity for players with aspirations to play on the international stage in 2019 and beyond.

All 2019 league fixtures have been confirmed, while announcements on the Wheelchair Challenge Cup and Grand Finals are set to follow this weekend.

The Wheelchair Challenge Cup and Plate draws will also take place on Saturday.

Want to watch or give Wheelchair Rugby League a try this weekend? Everyone is welcome!

Wheelchair Rugby League is the most inclusive sport in the world, with disabled, able-bodied male and female athletes all free to compete together at all levels.
