Widnes Vikings hold Club training session for Men's, Women's, LDRL, Wheelchair and Community sides

On Saturday morning, Widnes Vikings held a Club training session with all of their players from the Men’s, Women’s, LDRL and Wheelchair teams taking part.

The teams trained together, participating in a number of training drills, as they continued to build a strong bond as one club - ahead of the 2024 campaigns.

The Vikings also welcomed three local community clubs down to the DCBL Stadium, in what was a thoroughly enjoyable and successful day in Widnes, for all involved.

Teams from Halton Farnworth Hornets, Widnes Moorfield Tigers and West Bank Bears attended a community session with the Vikings first team, which further strengthened their ties with local teams, emphasising what the Rugby League community is all about.

Vikings Head Coach Allan Coleman explained the importance of the teams uniting as one:

“It’s vital that we get that mentality of being one club.

“We want to engage everybody with how we want to be, it’s been absolutely fantastic, all of the coaches have really engaged and the players have been loving it.”

Vikings Vice-Captain Rhodri Lloyd also spoke positively about the session and told Widnes Vikings

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for all of the teams to come together and see what we’re all about.

“I think it’s a massive day for the cub and it’s something the club hasn’t done for a long time.

“Getting everyone together as a community is a massive part of hopefully getting this club up and firing again.”
