Women's Rugby League set for 'biggest day'

Women's Rugby League set for 'biggest day'

Bradford Bulls' Provident Stadium will host a day of firsts on Sunday, July 31.

The 2016 Women’s Challenge Cup & Challenge Shield Finals Day will take place on Sunday, July 31 at Bradford Bulls' Provident Stadium.

The Women's Challenge Shield will kick off proceedings at 1pm, with Whitley Bay Barbarians taking on Thatto Heath-St Helens Reserves.

Then, at 3pm, Thatto could be set for a remarkable double as their First Team face off with Leigh Miners Rangers.

Next Sunday will mark a day of firsts, as Miners, (pictured) Shield winners last year, take part in their first-ever Challenge Cup final, while it is the first time one club will be represented by two teams on Finals Day.

It will also be a historic day for Whitey Bay, who are the first North East club ever to reach a Women's Rugby League final.

Entry to the day is just £4 for adults, with concessions £2.
