Rob Burrow fund reaches £200,000

Rob Burrow fund reaches £200,000

The fundraising page which is supporting Rob Burrow in his fight against Motor Neurone Disease has passed the £200k mark.

Burrow, the Leeds Rhinos legend and 15-cap England international, went public with the news of his fight on December 19 and was met with immediate and widespread support from across the Rugby League family.

The fund reached its initial target of £20k within hours, before former team mates and opponents auctioning off prized possessions backed up fan donations to help the fund reach £100k within just 31 hours.

Bradford Bulls have since announced their part of the money raised from their friendly match with Leeds in January will go straight to the fund.

The support has continued since from the sporting world, with England football legend Wayne Rooney offering his support to the cause.
