London Roosters and Sheffield Eagles have earned home advantage in this Saturday’s Betfred Wheelchair Challenge Cup Semi Finals, after impressive Quarter Final victories last weekend.
Tom Coyd’s Roosters claimed the notable scalp of the 2023 Super League champions Wigan Warriors in their own Robin Park stronghold with a 56-46 win.
They will now host last year’s Grand Final winners, Leeds Rhinos, at the Barking Sporthouse in Essex. The match kicks off at 210pm, and will be preceded by an example of the growing strength of Wheelchair Rugby League in the south-east, as Medway Dragons face Woodland Warriors.
Meanwhile around 180 miles north at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, and kicking off at the earlier time of 1130am, Sheffield Eagles face arguably the most daunting challenge against Halifax Panthers.
The Eagles, preparing for their debut season in the Betfred Wheelchair Super League, beat their fellow newcomers Edinburgh Giants 78-44 to reach the last four of the Challenge Cup for the first time.
But they will be prepared for stiff opposition from a Panthers team who have been boosted by the winter return of England star Jack Brown after five years in Queensland.
The Final of the 2025 Betfred Wheelchair Challenge Cup will be held at Robin Park, Wigan on Saturday June 14 – with tickets available here.
