West Hull returned to winning ways with a ruthless second half that took the score from 24-18 to a resounding 64-18 success over neighbours Hull Dockers in a game shown live via OuRLeague.
The big win strengthens Wests league position as they reach the half way point of the season.
Dockers started quickly when an excellent chase on a Louis Sheriff kick brought further kicks from Grassby and Steve Milne before Dan Suddaby collected and sent Dylan Rawlings hurtling to the posts. Suddaby goaled.
West Hull responded quickly when Ryan Wilson latched onto Sheriff's offload and the ball was worked left for Jack Lazenby to send Jay Hampshire sliding over in the corner. Wilson goaled to level at 6-6.
The hosts hit the front after fifteen minutes when a short pass from Josh Wood unlocked the defence and Wilson strode through and stepped inside Suddaby to score and convert to make it 12-6.
West Hull made it three tries in succession when Eliott Jones and Wood linked and Lazenby got away from two defenders before dropping over the line. Wilson added his third goal and it was 18-6 after 21 minutes.
Hull Dockers replied with more quick reactions from a kick. Suddaby nudged forward, then there was a lightning pick up from Steve Milne and a great pass from Rawlings sent Suddaby running in. The conversion made it 18-12 before the two West Hull halfbacks organised and linked with Wilson again for him to add another six points.
Just before half-time, Dockers claimed their third try when Pete Holmes held off the defender and Suddaby supported for his second try and added his third goal to make it 24-18 at the interval.
Two minutes into the new half West Hull cut loose when Jones dummied and shot through the gap and by the 51st minute, the hosts had added two further tries from Harry Trulson and Ryan Langton. Wilson goaled both to make it 42-18.
Spirited play from Hull Dockers saw them test their hosts before the deadlock was broken in the 71st minute when Lazenby grabbed his second try and Kieran Welburn goaled. This sparked a strong finish for West Hull who claimed further tries from Ethan Shore and Zeus Silk before Jones made the most of some tired defence in the last minute for his second score and Welburn kicked his third goal to bring about the final score of 64-18 to the hosts.
Elsewhere in the Premier Division there were wins for York Acorn, Hunslet ARLFC, Wath Brow Hornets, Rochdale Mayfield and Lock Lane who held off Siddal at Chevinedge, 26-16 to collect their fourth win of the season and go above their hosts.
In Division One, Skirlaugh, Egremont Rangers, Clock Face and Heworth collected the wins with Heworth scoring 32 unanswered second-half points at Crosfields to maintain their play-off charge in a 44-14 success.
Leaders Waterhead Warriors just edged a close game at Shaw Cross Sharks while Myton Warriors, Dewsbury Moor Maroons and Dewsbury Celtic all claimed big wins in Division Two.
Recent weeks have seen Leigh East emerge as a promotion contender in Division Three and they continued their good form with a 38-24 home success over Beverley, while fellow promotion hopefuls Oldham St Annes and Ellenborough Rangers were also victorious.
