The RLWC2021 takeover of the RFL’s Our League App has made a record-breaking start – with the live streaming of England’s warm-up match against Fiji smashing the previous highest viewing figures since Our League was launched in 2017.
RLWC2021 and the RFL announced last week that Our League has transitioned to the official RLWC2021 App for the next two months to give fans the best coverage of the feast of Rugby League that lies ahead through October and November.
That has already boosted the Our League membership beyond 250,000, and the live streaming of the England-Fiji match from Salford’s AJ Bell Stadium beat the previous best figure – for England’s home Test against France in the autumn of 2018 – by more than 10,000.
The audience number of more than 30,000 had an average dwell time of almost 30 minutes – and with the live streaming and enhanced Match Centre now featuring more live stats than ever, the App had its busiest ever day, again almost doubling the record number of users set during that England-France fixture in 2018.
And another record is set to fall this weekend, with the Cazoo Predictor Game heading for a highest entry – boosted by the chance to win a car with Cazoo, the RLWC principal sponsors.
The RLWC App will also allow more Rugby League fans than ever to watch the official tournament launch, from the Science and Industry in Manchester, on Monday afternoon – and featuring captains and head coaches of all 16 teams in the men’s tournament, as well as a range of other special guests.
The launch starts at 3pm.
