Women’s Championship & League One Grand Finals Set for Action

Women’s Championship & League One Grand Finals Set for Action

The 2022 domestic Women’s Rugby League Season reaches its conclusion this weekend (Sunday 2 October), when the Championship and League One Finals take place at Odsal Stadium in Bradford.

The League One Grand Final will get things underway at Odsal with a 12:45pm kick-off, as Sheffield Eagles take on Illingworth. In similar circumstances to the Championship Grand Final that follows, this is a game that pits a Foundation supported club against a club with a well-established Women and Girls project.

Illingworth will have a number of talented youngsters, whilst Sheffield have made a great start to life in the Women’s game under the stewardship of Women’s Rugby League great Andrea Dobson.

The Championship Grand Final will see newcomers Salford Red Devils take on Oulton Raidettes in what promises to be a thrilling game – the sides finished first and second on the ladder, and they each have a victory against one another this season.

Oulton are a young team with players on the Leeds Rhinos youth pathway whilst Salford, in their first season, have put together a really competitive squad – they’ve only lost one league  fixture all season and won the Women’s League Cup back in July.

The Championship Grand Final will round off the day as well as the season, with kick-off set for 3pm.

Both games will be streamed live on OurLeague – sign up here!
