IMG, the RFL and SLE today thank Rugby League supporters for their response to the invitation to contribute to the ‘Reimagining Rugby League’ consultation.
“We thought it was important to give supporters a voice, and to find out their thoughts about some of the key questions which we have been considering as part of the consultation,” said Matt Dwyer, the Vice President Sports Management at IMG, who is leading on the Rugby League project.
“We were delighted by the response – we had more than 18,000 replies, which went way beyond anything we expected over a fairly short period, and there was also a high level of thoughtfulness in the surveys.
“It’s a great example of the passion for Rugby League, which is one of the strengths of the sport that we believe offers so much potential for growth.
“One striking feature was that there are wide-ranging and different opinions on each topic. We are genuinely grateful to everyone who took the time to respond – and we have taken everything on board, both from this consultation and the many others we’ve conducted during the summer.”
IMG’s recommendations will be shared with clubs from all three professional competitions on Wednesday September 28, and with supporters through the RFL and SLE digital channels, and a media conference on the same day.
