North Wales Crusaders and Rochdale Hornets recorded impressive wins to move within four points of Betfred League One leaders Keighley Cougars.
With the Cougars' trip to London Skolars postponed due to a shortage of available doctors and Swinton Lions – second heading into the weekend – not in action, attention switched to the sides battling below them.
The Crusaders took second spot as they scored eight tries to run out 46-16 winners at Midlands Hurricanes. Rob Massam and Jack Houghton claimed two tries apiece, while Tommy Johnson scored 18 points with a try and seven goals. Alex Eckley, Matt Reid and Chris Barratt were their other try-scorers.
Rochdale scored 44 unanswered points in a stunning second-half fightback to win 50-24 at neighbours Oldham and climb to third.
The Hornets trailed 24-6 at the break but hit back in exhilarating fashion with former England international Rangi Chase completing a hat-trick and Fenton Rogers grabbing two. Lewis Sheridan, Ben Calland, six-goal Ben O'Keefe and Gavin Bennion took their side's try tally to nine.
Hunslet crossed the whitewash 10 times as they saw off West Wales Raiders 54-6.
Jimmy Watson, Matthew Stableford and Macauley Hallett grabbed a brace each, with Jordan Syme, Oliver Burton, Mackenzie Turner and Jordan Paga also touching down and Matty Beharrell kicking seven goals.
Doncaster were also in free-flowing mood as they claimed a 44-10 win at Cornwall.
Watson Boas and Ben Johnston both crossed twice, while Aaron Ollett-Hobson, Ben Cockayne, Jason Tali and Tom Halliday also got on the scoresheet.
