The first try-less match in the Betfred Super League for 15 years - and only the second ever - was played out as Warrington claimed a 4-0 win over Hull FC at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
It was the first try-less match since a 5-2 home win for Salford over Harlequins which took place on June 15, 2007 - the win ended Warrington's five-game losing streak which stretched back to April.
With chances at a premium, the game was without a point at half time as both sides struggled to adapt to their respective injury issues and failed to keep hold of the ball in promising areas.
Stefan Ratchford scored the first points of the match as he booted a penalty goal on 45 minutes, making it 2-0.
Warrington's defence firmed up as Hull attempted to work their way in front and Ratchford doubled their advantage after 65 minutes thanks to his second penalty goal of the night, making it 4-0 - which is how things stayed when the final hooter sounded.
Elsewhere, Abbas Miski scored four tries as Wigan Warriors recorded a comfortable 40-6 home win over Toulouse Olympique.
Miski kicked off the scoring with his first try after just three minutes, Harry Smith converting for his first of six goals on the night.
In-form Liam Farrell then went over on ten minutes before Miski grabbed his second and third of the match to complete his hat-trick by the 32nd minute.
Bevan French then chipped in with a try just before half time and Wigan held an unassailable 28-0 interval lead.
Though Toulouse did get the first try of the second half through Dom Peyroux - converted by Chris Hankinson - they never looked likely to overturn the deficit.
Jai Field bagged Wigan's sixth try of the night on 54 minutes, before Miski added his fourth on 62 minutes. That try made it 40-6 and proved to be the final score of the game.
