Super League announce extension with talkSPORT and talkSPORT 2

Super League (Europe) is pleased to announce that a new two-year contract extension has been agreed with talkSPORT – the world’s biggest sports radio station - and talkSPORT 2 to broadcast more than 90 Betfred Super League games over the next two years.

As an official broadcast partner of the Betfred Super League, talkSPORT and talkSPORT 2 will dedicate an unprecedented amount of programming to the sport which will include a dedicated magazine programme on talkSPORT 2 every Wednesday between 4.00pm-6.00pm.

The contract extension will see live games broadcast on both stations until the end of 2019 Betfred Super League season. TalkSPORT 2's 2018 coverage starts with Widnes Vikings v Catalans Dragons on Sunday, February 4 (3.00pm). 

Interim Rugby Football League Chief Executive Officer, Ralph Rimmer, said: "It's fantastic that we have agreed a two-year contract extension with talkSPORT and talkSPORT 2 enabling Rugby League fans throughout the country the opportunity to listen to more than 90 live Betfred Super League games over the next two years.

"The Rugby League show on talkSPORT 2 is already proving very popular and I'm sure more fans will tune in over the season to listen live or download the podcast." 

Mike Bovill, Managing Editor of talkSPORT 2 and Head of Live Sport on talkSPORT, said: "It’' great to have Super League back on the talkSPORT network for another two years.

"We've put the sport at the heart of our output particularly on talkSPORT 2, with more coverage on national radio than ever before." 

Fixtures in February and March that will be live on talkSPORT and talkSPORT 2 are as follows: 

  • Sunday, February 4 Widnes Vikings v Catalans Dragons
  • Sunday, February 11 Castleford Tigers v Widnes Vikings
  • Friday, February 16 Melbourne Storm v Leeds Rhinos
  • Friday, February 23 Huddersfield Giants v St Helens
  • Friday, March 9 Warrington Wolves v St Helens
  • Sunday, March 11 Wigan Warriors v Wakefield Trinity
  • Friday, March 16 St Helens v Leeds Rhinos
