Batley Bulldogs have created a ‘Roll of Honour’ to show appreciation for NHS workers and carers – who have links with the club – to show appreciation for the brave and tireless work they are undertaking during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Bulldogs stated on their website that ‘we need to put names to these heroes to show our full appreciation’.
Batley have already enlisted two NHS workers to their Roll of Honour with Christine Allen and Julie Bownass being the initial members.
Allen is the mother of Bulldogs star Wayne Reittie and has been a nurse for over 30 years and is now working around the clock at A&E at St James’s Hospital in Leeds. She attends almost every Batley game to support her son and the club are now supporting her with a position in their Roll of Honour.
Bownass has followed the club home and away for the entirety of her life and has been a nurse since 1981. Currently she cares for people with physical and mental disabilities – some of the most vulnerable in society - across various locations in Leeds.
Batley are inviting you to put forward potential additions to their Roll of Honour by E-Mailing kevin@batleybulldogs.co.uk with a name, your connection to the club and details of the work you or the person you are putting forward are currently doing.
