Premier Division

Thatto Heath Crusaders 20 Lock Lane 40

Lock Lane's early season challenge is gathering momentum after a convincing performance at Thatto Heath Crusaders. The visitors built a 28-0 advantage at the interval and despite a spirited fightback from the hosts, they were never in any danger.

Tom Newbould burst through for the visitors to open the score after five minutes and although Nathan Fozzard was unable to goal, he was on target to amass six goals in total.

Home hooker Brad Pinder was twice sinbinned in the first half - firstly for dissent after 17 minutes and then just before half-time for a dangerous lift which didn't aid Thatto's cause.

Lewis Price made Lane's temporary advantage count after 19 minutes, zipping over in the corner. Dan Holmes touched down twice either side of a Bailey O'Conner effort and with Fozzard on target, the game was almost out of Thatto Heath's reach.

Connor Dwyer pulled a try back for the hosts after a break from Ryan Houghton and Crusaders made a game of it when Dave Pike and Adam Saunders both found their way to the line with Houghton goaling both, but a 66th minute effort by Shaun Pick kept the visitors in control. Pike grabbed his second try to make it 20-34 but a last minute touch down from Callum Barker stretched the Lock Lane advantage to twenty points and victory.

Division One

Wigan St Patricks 34 Kells 6

Wigan St Patricks took advantage of a slow start from their visitors to roar into an 8-0 lead and played some superb rugby thanks to two unconverted tries.

Dave Thompson scored the first aftrer linking with the impressive Taylor Hyland before a high speed move from the restart saw Harvey Parma Breheny go over in support of Hyland.

Kells hit back after 20 minutes when Ross Ainley supported a play through the middle and Ross Gainford goaled, but another Pats try before half-time from Hyland, and goal from Brad Smith established a 14-6 advantage from the hosts.

Five minutes into the new half Kell's hopes were further hit when prop Tony Burns was dismissed for a high tackle and Joe Higham took advantage in the 50th minute with Smith goaling again.

Will Ennis was held up at the other end but two tries either side of the hour mark from Parma Breheny took him to a hat-trick and a goal from Craig Thomas made it 30-6.

Then with time ticking down Pats ran in a magnificent try. Starting on their own line Palma Breheny broke and linked with Joe Prior before Brad Storey finished the play to secure the win.

Division Two

Wigan St Judes 18 Dewsbury Celtic 16

Wigan St Judes won in thrilling style against Dewsbury Celtic, with Danny Fallon converting Lewis Melling's second try of the game from the touchline in the final minute. The hosts have struggled for points this season, but opened the scoring after 19 minutes through Conner Parkinson. Judes doubled their advantage after 33 minutes when Lewis Melling scored.

Just before the break, Lewis Teale hauled Dewsbury Celtic back into contention with a try that Charlie Heaton converted and it was 8-6 at half-time.The second half was an interesting affair with visiting loose forward Joe Mitchell breaking the deadlock just before the hour and Heaton's second goal made it 8-12.

Teale's second try thirteen minutes from time seemingly had Celtic in control, but Luke Melling had other ideas with a try ten minutes from time. Then came the crucial play with Melling touching down out wide before Fallon's heroics with the boot followed to secure victory.

Then just before half-time, Luke Powell went in for the home side with Leadbeater's third goal opening an eight-point half-time advantage.

Thornton put Drig right back in the contest, but Leadbeater's converted try made it 24-14. Lucas Hallas kept the visitors in touch and Roche goaled for 24-20, but Batley Boys finished strongly with Danny Mould scoring their final try, goaled by Leadbeater.
