Martin Offiah
Arguably one of the greatest wingers to grace the sport, Martin Offiah was born in Hackney in December 1965.
After making his name at Widnes in the late 80s, Offiah was part of Wigan’s all-conquering team of the early 90s and also featured in the capital domestically for London Broncos.
He earned his first England caps at the 1995 Rugby League World Cup and featured in that year’s final, as Australia went onto lift the trophy. He holds the joint record for the most number of tries scored in an England game, after crossing the line four times against France the following year.

Dan Sarginson
The 23-year old was born in Australia but was raised in Hemel Hempstead and came through the youth ranks in the capital with London Broncos, who he made his debut for in May 2011.
Initially featuring for the England Knights in 2012, the centre’s first international caps with the senior side came in November 2014 as England were narrowly beaten by Australia in the Four Nations.
The call-up followed his move to Wigan Warriors at the start of that season, with his highlight that campaign scoring two hat-tricks during the season. Being a major part of Wigan’s Super League-winning campaign this year, Sarginson earned a spot in Wayne Bennett’s England squad for this autumn’s Four Nations.

Tony Clubb
Although he was born in Kent, Clubb’s career started at London Broncos after coming through their youth system.
Earning his first international cap in the warm-up win over Wales ahead of the 2008 World Cup, Clubb’s greatest moment in white and red came during the 2010 Four Nations, when he became the tenth player to score four tries for England in a match in the 36-10 win over Papua New Guinea.
After earning over 150 appearances for the Broncos, the centre was snapped up by Wigan Warriors in 2014.
Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook
Lewisham-born McCarthy-Scarsbrook began his career with Harlequins, who would later become London Broncos, and made his debut for them in 2006.
He earned his first England call-up ahead of the 2008 World Cup and made his debut against Wales in a pre-tournament warm-up game. Although he didn’t earn an appearance in that tournament, he went onto play in the 2009 Four Nations win over Wales.
After proving his quality in the capital, St Helens swooped for the forward and he joined up with the Langtree Park club following a successful five years with Harlequins.

Although he was raised in Leeds, lively winger Mark Calderwood was actually born in London.
After an impressive start to his club career with Leeds Rhinos, Calderwood earned his first international call-up during England’s successful 2004 European Championship campaign.
He went onto feature for England at the 2008 World Cup and at club level featured for Wigan Warriors, Hull FC and the London-based Harlequins.
