Road to Wembley confirmed in AB Sundecks 1895 Cup

A date at Rugby League’s Wembley Stadium Finals Day is on the horizon for seven Betfred Championship clubs, plus Betfred League One Oldham, following today’s draws for the quarter- and semi-finals of the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup.

Seven group winners and the best runner-up, York Knights, went into the hat for the quarter-final draw, hosted by BBC Radio Cumbria at Workington’s Fibrus Community Stadium following today’s final round of group fixtures.

With Barrow Raiders and Swinton Lions already assured in advance of quarter-final places as winners of groups 1 and 6 respectively, today’s ties decided which six teams would join them in the last eight.

In Group 2, Bradford Bulls held off a late Keighley Cougars comeback to win 26-18 and clinch top spot and a home tie against Swinton Lions.

Wakefield Trinity defeated Newcastle Thunder to win Group 3 and earn a quarter-finals home tie against Barrow Raiders.

Oldham clinched Group 4 with a 38-12 home victory over derby rivals Rochdale Hornets and will travel to York Knights in the last eight.

In Group 5, Batley Bulldogs beat Hunslet and will play Sheffield Eagles, who defeated Midlands Hurricanes to win Group 7.
