Rugby League was born out of injustice, its founders determined to succeed against the odds, to fight discrimination and intolerance, and to create an honest and authentic sport. Inclusion is in our DNA, and 128 years on Rugby League continues to have a significant social impact in communities across the north of England and beyond.
Yet there is much progress still to be made in equity, diversity and inclusion within the sport. Through the TACKLE IT plan, the game’s Inclusion Board is driving change – change that is seeing the game becoming truly representative of those communities.
The Inclusion Board was formed in 2020 and is now seeking new volunteer members. Could you be one of them? If you are passionate about the sport and making a positive difference, then maybe the answer is ‘yes’.
