Betfred Super League Round-Up

Wigan Warriors firmed up second place in the Betfred Super League with a 46-22 victory at relegation-battling Wakefield Trinity.

Abbas Miski, Kai Pearce-Paul and Bevan French all bagged try braces for the visitors, with Harry Smith notching seven goals.

Liam Marshall and Liam Farrell also crossed as Wigan cruised to their fifth straight victory.

Max Jowitt scored twice for the home side, with Jay Pitts and debutant Kyle Evans also going over.

But Trinity were outclassed by the Warriors to leave them just four points ahead of bottom side Toulouse.

Salford Red Devils conjured 24 unanswered points to sink Warrington Wolves 32-24 in a stunning comeback victory.

Jack Ormondroyd's brace, with further scores from Chris Atkin and Ryan Brierley, set up a fine turnaround win at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Rhys Williams and Deon Cross completed the scoring for the triumphant visiting Red Devils.

Daryl Clark, Stefan Ratchford, Gareth Widdop and Josh Thewlis all scored for a Warrington side ultimately stunned by Salford's recovery.

Salford had raced into an 8-0 lead before Warrington turned the game on its head to take control at 24-8.

But the visitors refused to relent, powering back with a scoring spree of their own to steal the victory and shock their hosts.

Saturday's action was dominated by Ash Handley's stunning five tries as Leeds Rhinos hammered Hull FC 62-16.

Kruise Leeming scored twice to boot, with Mikolaj Oledzki, Richard Myler, Liam Sutcliffe and David Fusitu'a also going over.

Hull could only manage scores from Darnell McIntosh, Danny Houghton and Chris Satae before being blown away.

Sam Tomkins' extra conversion proved the difference as Catalans Dragons edged out St Helens 20-18.

Mathieu Laguerre, Josh Drinkwater, Samisoni Langi and Dean Whare all claimed tries for the Dragons.

Sione Mata'utia, Tommy Makinson, Ben Davies and Jack Welsby matched the Dragons' try count for Saints but Tomkins slotted two goals to Davies' one, and that ultimately handed the hosts victory.

Basement club Toulouse Olympique XIII coasted past Hull KR 28-6 for one of the shock results of the campaign.

Latrell Schaumkel, Paul Marcon, Chris Hankinson and Oliver Ashall-Bott claimed the tries for the jubilant home side, who claimed just their third win of the season. Albert Vete offered Rovers' solitary response.

Derrel Olpherts claimed a try brace as Castleford Tigers edged out Huddersfield Giants 26-18 on Friday night.

Jake Trueman and Jake Mamo also crossed the whitewash for the hosts, with Danny Richardson successful five times off the tee.

Jermaine McGillvary, Chris McQueen and Will Pryce were on the scoresheet for the defeated visitors.
