York City Knights winger Savannah Andrade has been added to the England Women National Performance Squad following an impressive 2021 season.

Andrade joined the Knights from Bradford Bulls back in May and has proven to be a pivotal strike player for York helping the club reach their first Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Final scoring a sensational Semi-Final hat-trick against Castleford Tigers.

England Women Head Coach, Craig Richards, said: “We spoke with Savannah earlier in the season and she has taken on board our feedback and worked hard on her game which is evident following some really strong performances for York.

“She has the ability to score tries from anywhere on the field and offers us another great option out wide as we prepare for our fixture against France.

“We have two sessions scheduled either side of the Betfred Women’s Super League Grand Final and places are definitely up for grabs.”

England Women will meet for two training sessions either side of the Betfred Women’s Super League Grand Final - with the first coming this Saturday (2nd October) - as preparations for their Test Match against France continue. Head Coach Richards will select his squad to travel to Perpignan following the October 16th session.

England Women earned a 60-0 victory earlier this season as they overcame Wales in the National Lottery Mid-Season International at the Halliwell Jones Stadium; a game which saw four players make their international debuts – Hollie Dodd, Fran Goldthorp, Beth Stott, and Paige Travis.
