
Barrow Raiders lost ground on Betfred League 1 leaders Workington Town as they suffered a 23-10 defeat at North Wales Crusaders.
Workington had avoided any upset on Saturday afternoon with a comfortable victory at West Wales, putting the pressure on Barrow to respond in kind on Sunday afternoon.
And the Raiders did just that early on against the Crusaders, going into the break 10-8 up, despite two tries from the home side's Rob Massam.
But North Wales blew their visitors away in the second half, with Tommy Johnson making a telling impact upon the game with a try, two conversions and a penalty, as the Crusaders fought their way to triumph 23-10 and move up to third.
Elsewhere, it was a day to forget for Doncaster RLFC who were thrashed 44-8 by Rochdale Hornets.
Cian Tyrer and Jordan Syme both scored two tries each with Reece Dean performing well with his kicking, finishing with five conversions and a penalty to his name.
Jy-Mel Coleman kicked six conversions and a penalty as Hunslet beat London Skolars 38-10.
Hunslet started in dominant form, reaching 20-0 at the half-time break, but Skolars managed to score two tries in the second half, although the gap proved too much for the visitors to bridge by the final whistle.
Mo Agoro scored three tries as Keighley Cougars stormed to a 46-18 win over Coventry Bears.Cougars came out of the blocks quickly, making it 40-12 at the break, with Daniel Parker also finishing with two tries to his name.
Although the second half was closer, and Dan Coates scored a try as well as kicking two conversions, the Cougars recorded their seventh win of the season.
