"Over the past few seasons we have gradually worked our way up through the divisions but frustratingly, always finished in second place.
"In 2016 we reached the Premier Division, holding our own through a tough season but sadly losing some players.
"We started the 2017 season with a few good wins which helped attract new players to the squad - these lads found their feet straight away and have performed brilliantly for us all year.
"It's been a fantastic effort from all the lads to lose only one league game, even when we were down to minimum numbers.
"The final game against West Bowling was a top result as neither side had played for at least six weeks, both teams needing a win to finish top of Division 1.
"Our team has had further success with six of our players receiving Academy places with Wakefield Trinity, Huddersfield Giants and Leeds Rhinos.
"In addition, we have had three players selected in the England squad which could be a club record.
"All in all, it's been a great effort from a fantastic bunch of lads and, as Head Coach, I'm sad to see it end.
"I would like to wish all my players the best of luck for the future and thank them for their top effort throughout the 2017 season - well done lads!"
