It is with great sadness that the National Conference League has to report the passing of long time colleague and Chairman of Eastmoor Dragons, Dave Roberts.
Dave sadly passed away on Tuesday 14th April in Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield having been admitted a few weeks earlier.
He was a great stalwart of the game and the Dragons, for whom he had played and coached. He also worked tirelessly in other areas for the club during his time there.
Dave had also toured South Africa, Serbia and Canada as the BARLA Under 19’s Tour Manager, well as working with the Yorkshire County Under 19’s squads.
The thoughts of the NCL are with his family and friends at this difficult time, and we know that he will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
NCL Chair Trevor Hunt added, “Dave was a tireless worker for Eastmoor Dragons and the game in general, with his support of the NCL always most warmly welcomed. Never one to shy away from what needed to be said, whilst offering viable and sustainable options or alternatives, he was a most respected member of the NCL community.
“On behalf of the NCL I offer our sincere condolences to his wife Ann and children Charlotte and Toby, and our thoughts are with them and all his family and friends at this terrible time.”
