England Universities confirm 2020 Staff Team

England Universities confirm 2020 Staff Team

England Universities Rugby League have confirmed the line up of their volunteer staff team for the 2020 season, following the departure of sports therapist Laura Clint at the end of 2019 owing to commitments with London Broncos.

Experience therapist Keith Burnett comes into the team, bringing a wealth of knowledge from both codes of Rugby and practice in other sports and is no stranger to the England Universities set up having previously worked with GB Teachers, whom England play each year in the RFL President's Cup.

"I'm thrilled to be working with the England Universities team and to be part of the staff," Burnett said.

"The staff and players made me really welcome at the first session and that allowed me to fit in from the beginning and to start to contribute from the word go. The level of professionalism from both the players and staff is remarkable and I am really looking forward to when we can start playing and doing my bit."

The rest of the staff team remains unchanged from the previous year, with Richard Tate commencing his third year as head coach following a stint as assistant coach at England's 2017 World Cup campaign in Australia.

Kevin Deighton, who has experience coaching in Super League with Hull KR continues in his role as assistant coach whilst former Scotland international Lee Paterson will take the role of strength and conditioning coach for the second year. David Butler continues as Team Manager.
