Year 11 Champion Schools National stages begin

The national stage of the 2018/19 Year 11 Champion Schools Finals get underway next week across the country.

St Peter's Orrell claimed the title last year, beating Castleford Academy 28-6 in April at Featherstone Rovers' LD Nutrition Stadium

On Tuesday, January 15, Brooksbank, top-ranked in Yorkshire, take on Cardinal Newman from the North West at Sheffield Hallam Sports Park, 1pm kick off.

And in Berkshire, Maidenhead RFC hosts the tie between Hinchley Wood of London and Welsh outfit Abedare Community, getting underway at 12.30pm.

On Wednesday, it's Saddleworth v Ulverston at JMO Sports Park, Skelmersdale, followed by Wade Deacon v Yorkshire at 2.30pm.

Also on Wednesday, Cumbria's top side, West Lakes, going head-to-head with Whitley Bay at Penrith RFC - 1pm kick off, followed by Egglescliffe v Garforth Academy at 4pm, hosted at Newcastle Thunder's Kingston Park.

A double-header at Loughborough University brings the week's action to a close on Thursday as Wales' Glantaf take on St Mary's from the North West at 1pm, and Hull's Malet Lambert clash with London's Howard of Effingham, 2.30pm kick off.
