Disciplinary Update | Salford Red Devils

Salford Red Devils forward Luke Yates has lost his appeal against the one match penalty imposed yesterday (Monday 28 September) by the RFL's Match Review Panel.

An independent tribunal today re-affirmed the panel's view that Yates was guilty of a Grade B Dangerous Contact with Hull FC's Danny Houghton during last week’s Betfred Super League fixture.

Yates will now serve a one-match suspension and has also been fined £500.

Earlier today Yates' teammate, Dan Sarginson, successfully appealed against a two-match ban for a reckless high tackle on Hull FC's Jamie Shaul during the same match. An independent tribunal decided that the tackle was 'careless' rather than 'reckless' and downgraded the incident from Grade B to A, which does not carry a suspension.

Prior to the tribunals, Hull FC's Brad Fash accepted a Grade A Dangerous Contact charge which did not carry a penalty.
