Dacia Magic Weekend 2020 has now been cancelled. The event was due to make its return to St James’ Park, Newcastle on May 23-24.

Tickets already purchased for this year will be valid for Dacia Magic Weekend in 2021, for which a deal has been agreed in principle for a return to St James’ Park, Newcastle on 29 and 30 May.

We thank you for your continued understanding and patience at this uncertain time.

Should fans that have bought tickets already not be able to attend in 2021 then, as per the terms and conditions of sale, you will be entitled to a refund.

Consequently, we have prepared some FAQs to provide you with some further information.

Will my existing ticket(s) be valid for the rearranged date?

Yes - as per the RFL ticketing terms and conditions, your existing tickets will remain valid for the event in 2021 and you don’t need to do anything.

What happens to my ticket(s) if I cannot attend the 2021 event?

Should you be unable to attend you will be able to request one of the following courses of action should you wish to cancel/return your tickets:

1.     receive a credit note for the full amount paid, including booking fees, to be used for any other 2020 or 2021 Super League or RFL Ticketing event or

2.     receive a full refund of the ticket price that you paid

If I want the credit for a ticket(s) to another major Rugby League event this year or next what do I do?

To opt for this option correspondence relating to credit notes must be marked ‘MATCH CREDIT NOTE’ and e-mailed to 2020events@rfl.co.uk.

The request must be made by the person who purchased the tickets (account holder). The name and address of the person who made the original booking must be supplied in BLOCK CAPITALS for a credit note to be given. You must also include either your order or customer reference number and stipulate that you bought tickets for Dacia Magic Weekend.  As no tickets for 2020 events were issued you are not required to return any printed tickets.

To help us manage this process we ask that you make your credit request before 11 August 2020. All customers who request a match credit will be notified when it is available to redeem for a future event.

PLEASE NOTE If a ticket purchaser hasn’t claimed a refund or credit note by midnight on 11 August 2020 the booking will be transferred to Dacia Magic Weekend 2021.

PLEASE NOTE Credit Notes are not available via any other form of communication including other mailboxes or over the telephone. Where possible please refrain from calling our box office.  We are working remotely in line with the government restrictions and we appreciate your patience.

Coral Challenge Cup Semi-Finals

Given the ongoing suspension of all Rugby League activity, and the current public health situation, the RFL wanted to advise you that the triple header of the Coral Challenge Cup Semi Finals and the Coral Women’s Challenge Cup Final will not take place as scheduled, on June 6 at The University Of Bolton Stadium.

At this stage, as you may be aware, 16 teams remain in the Coral Challenge Cup – the Sixth Round draw was held as scheduled on Monday March 16, but the eight ties could not be played as scheduled around the first weekend of April – and with quarter finals also necessary before we reach the semi final stage, it is clearly unrealistic for us to go ahead with planning for the semi finals on June 6.

Similarly, the Coral Women’s Challenge Cup has started, but in that case only the First Round has been played – the draw for the Second Round has been made, but those eight ties had been scheduled for March 22, and were therefore also postponed.

Details of how the two competitions will be rescheduled will be announced as soon as possible.

Consequently, we have prepared some FAQs to provide you with some further information.

Rugby League Ashes Series

The Rugby Football League and the Australian Rugby League Commission have confirmed the cancellation of the Rugby League Ashes Series that was scheduled to be held in England this October and November.

Given the continued complications surrounding global travel, and the need to extend the domestic season in both hemispheres because of the significant disruption caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, the governing bodies have agreed to take an early decision to allow greater certainty for players and supporters.

However both the RFL and the ARLC remain committed to the revival of the great Rugby League tradition of the Ashes - which was first contested in 1908 and had been due to be revived after a 17-year absence for its 40th edition in 2020 – and the Kangaroo tour.

With the Rugby League World Cup to be held in England in 2021, discussions have already been opened on the potential for the Kangaroos returning for a three-Test Ashes series, possibly as soon as 2022.

Fans who have already purchased tickets to the RL Ashes are able to either claim a credit for a ticket to attend any major Rugby League event in 2020 or 2021 including the Rugby League World Cup 2021 or claim a full refund.

Consequently, we have prepared some FAQs to provide you with some further information.

Other Major Rugby League Events in 2020

I am worried about Covid 19 (Coronavirus), can I get a refund on ticket(s) for an event that is still planned to go ahead?

Please note at the current time all other major Rugby League events this year are still going ahead, therefore no refunds are available for any other major events in 2020.
