Betfred Championship round 2 round-up

Barrow hold favourites Toronto whilst Leigh bounce back from their round 1 defeat

Barrow Raiders held early favourites Toronto Wolfpack to an 8-8 draw in round 2.

The Wolfpack were fresh off their convincing victory over 2017 Betfred Super League side Leigh Centurions but found it tough in the conditions.

Andrew Dixon's try gave Toronto a 4-2 lead at half time and Nick Rawsthorne pushed the Wolfpack further ahead after the break.

Dan Toal replied for the Raiders soon after and Jamie Dallimore converted to level the scores at 8-8.

Neither team could add to their tally in the remaining 20 minutes and the pair shared the spoils.

London Broncos and Featherstone Rovers recorded their second wins out of two.

Featherstone defeated top four hopefuls Toulouse 36-18, whilst London Broncos kept Dewsbury scoreless in a 12-0 win away from home.

The results mean the round 3 matchup between Rovers and Broncos will be a top two clash.

Leigh Centurions and Halifax registered their first wins of the season.

The Leythers were solid in their convincing victory over Batley Bulldogs and Halifax handed Sheffield Eagles their second defeat from two.

Swinton Lions v Rochdale Hornets was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
