Betfred Championship Preview | Round 15

Betfred Championship Preview | Round 15

It’s hotting up in the Betfred Championship, as Round 15 is fast approaching…

Can Toulouse continue their unbeaten run this Saturday? The French side have been formidable in the last eight rounds and will travel to face Whitehaven in Round 15 – a side they already confidently beat back in April.

On Sunday, a blockbuster contest awaits at Bartercard Odsal when Bradford and Wakefield go head-to-head in another West Yorkshire derby.

The Bulls are undefeated in their last five matches and will look to enact revenge on a table topping Trinity. The two sides have locked horns twice already this season – Trinity triumphing in Round 1 and in their AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Semi-Final clash two months ago.

With Bradford going from strength to strength in recent weeks, could they become the first team to record a win against Daryl Powell’s side in 2024?

There are home ties for Batley and Halifax – two teams looking to return to winning ways. The Bulldogs will take on Barrow, while Halifax host Featherstone.

Featherstone were ruthless in Round 14 with their dominant 66-0 display against Whitehaven – will they inflict something similar on ‘Fax this weekend? Or can the Panthers fight their way back into the Play-Off hunt?

It’s a tasty 7th v 8th meeting between York and Doncaster – two teams firmly keeping tabs on the top six. The Dons and Knights sit outside of the top six by one and two point(s) respectively – will they ever be able to break in?

If we cast our minds back to Round 1, the two sides last met at the Eco-Power Stadium, with Doncaster comfortably taking the two points. Will the Dons do the double or will York continue their resurgence under Mark Applegarth?

Can Sheffield further cement second place with a victory over Swinton? The Eagles enjoyed a strong win in Round 14 but have a tough test when they welcome the Lions to Olympic Legacy Park who also beat Widnes last time out.

And Widnes will want to avoid slipping any further down the table when they host Dewsbury on Sunday. The Vikings find themselves hanging onto fifth spot in the table, and with teams gearing up for an intense Play-Off race, it is arguably a must-win game for Allan Coleman’s men...
