England Women Students win President’s Cup

Winstanley College’s Molly Jones turned in a player-of the-match performance at Orrell St James last night as England Students defeated UK Combined Armed Forces 42-8 to retain the President’s Cup.
The Wigan Warriors’ winger, outstanding throughout, broke the deadlock with a try on 11 minutes and her Warriors teammate Grace Banks (West Lancashire College) scored either side of half-time to take the game away from a determined Forces side.
England scored seven tries to the Forces two, Leeds Becket University’s Liv Whitehead converting each one of them for a 100% record with the boot.
The students squad is an important part of the England development pathway, with 11 of last year’s squad progressing into the England Knights Women’s squad and one of them making England’s World Cup squad.
