Betfred Super League Round-Up | Round 22

Champions St Helens got back to winning ways in the Betfred Super League as they held on for a 20-12 win over Castleford.

Saints, beaten by Salford in their last outing, looked to be coasting to victory as tries from Curtis Sironen, Morgan Knowles and Joe Batchelor helped them into a 20-0 lead at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Bureta Faraimo led a Tigers rally with a hat-trick of tries in the space of just 13 minutes late on but, with all unconverted, Saints' lead proved enough.

Liam Marshall also scored a hat-trick as second-placed Wigan overcame a slow start to keep up the pressure with a 32-6 win over Warrington at the DW Stadium.

The Warriors did not get on the scoreboard until the closing minutes of the first half when Sam Halsall replied to Ben Currie's opener.

But the second period proved to be one-way traffic as Jake Bibby put Matt Peet's side ahead and Marshall helped himself to his treble before Jai Field also touched down.

Danny Levi crossed twice in the closing four minutes as Huddersfield snatched a 22-6 victory over play-off rivals Hull at the John Smith's Stadium.

Hull twice held a 10-point advantage as Jack Walker, Connor Wynne and Ellis Longstaff touched down, with Tui Lolohea replying for the hosts.

Theo Fages brought the Giants back within striking distance and then went over twice from dummy half to complete the turnaround.

Hull KR kept themselves in the play-off picture as they snatched a 22-16 comeback win over battling bottom side Toulouse at Craven Park.

Rowan Milnes scored the decisive late try after Ethan Ryan and Frankie Halton had earlier crossed to peg back the French side.

Toulouse had led 12-6 at half-time after tries from Matty Russell and Daniel Alvaro in response to an early effort from Rovers' Elliot Minchella. Latrell Schaumkel extended the visitors' lead but Rovers finished the stronger.

The reverse was a missed opportunity for Toulouse, who are fighting for survival, but they remain just two points adrift after Wakefield were beaten 20-16 by Catalans Dragons.

Winger Fouad Yaha was the star for depleted Catalans, marking his 150th career appearance with a first-half hat-trick of tries in the clash at Belle Vue.

Yaha's treble helped the Dragons, who were missing 13 senior players, into a 16-4 lead at half-time with Wakefield's recent signing Jamie Shaul replying.

Matty Ashurst pulled another back for Trinity but Lewis Murphy made the result safe.

Rhyse Martin scored 22 points with two tries and seven goals as Leeds moved into the top six with a 34-14 win over Salford at Headingley.

Harry Newman, Richie Myler and Ash Handley also crossed for the Rhinos, who powered away to victory after being pegged back to 18-14. Joe Burgess, Ken Sio and Brodie Croft scored Salford's tries.
