Betfred Boss backing England for World Cup glory

Betfred Boss Fred Done is backing England for World Cup glory this year, on the day his company's name takes pride of place on the front of the new England Rugby League shirt.

Earlier this year, Betfred signed a two-year deal to become the principal partner of England Men's, Women's and Wheelchair teams.

All three teams will wear the navy blue and white jersey during the tournament, which begins at St James' Park, Newcastle, on Saturday 15 October, when England play Samoa.

England Women play their first game at Headingley Stadium, Leeds, against the RLWC debutants Brazil on Tuesday 1 November, while England Wheelchair open their campaign against Australia at the Copper Box Arena in London’s Olympic Park on Thursday 3 November.

Betfred Boss Fred Done says: "I'm delighted and proud that Betfred is principal partner of the three England teams going into a World Cup on home soil.

"Rugby League is such an inclusive sport and it's a great honour for us to be involved at all levels, as we look forward to the country getting behind England Rugby League. I'm looking forward to being in Manchester in November, shouting on our England teams in their World Cup finals."

RFL Chief Executive, Ralph Rimmer, adds: "Betfred's growing support of Rugby League has been so important through the unique challenges of the last two years and the partnership with our three England teams underlines the strength of that relationship. Let's hope we can celebrate the partnership with England teams reaching all three World Cup Finals in Manchester on the weekend of 18 and 19 November."

The Rugby League World Cup kicks off at St James' Park on 15 October and concludes at Old Trafford on 19 November with the finals of the Men’s and Women’s competitions. 24 hours earlier,

Manchester Central will host the final of the Wheelchair final competition. Full details are available at RLWC2021.com.
